How about a shed quilt?! I've read just a little on the barn quilts around the country, enough to know they are painted on separate pieces of wood before being hung up. Has anyone here ever painted a quilt block on something outside, something large? LOL I have to repaint our shed this summer and was just thinking....

Carrieg I don't have a barn, but for the longest time I have wanted to make a barn quilt and put it on the roof of my house (attaching without nails naturally). Could I then call it a roof quilt? I just love looking at some of the barn quilt web sites!

Have fun!

Now, there's a thought! It might catch on....go for it.

dakotamaid - how did you go about drawing the 'N' on your shed?

RedGarnet222 04-10-2010 10:31 AM

LOL... two by fours would work and a big carpenter's pencil. Then if you add a bolt and nut on the ends of them in the middle where they meet, you would have a huge primative carpenter's square that would be movable for your angles.

I have also seen them added on to wood fences or even painted on them :D:D:D

My day care boys thought it was a hoot, they wanted me to put a white football there also.

I'm thinking of putting one on my chicken coop.

Go for it, life's too short.

OK Folks! I found an ad on one of the back pages of my new April/May issue of COUNTRY magazine. The ad is of a Barn Artist. How cool is that? Scott Hagan at www.barnartist.com.
Sometimes, it pays to have your eyes opened to the beauty around ya (ME!). Useless information for folks like me who will probably never own a barn, or want one. But trivia seems to find me. snicker
