Did you wash it in salt water? I'm told by fabric experts that it preserves the colour more.

The other possibility is that you may have purchased Batiks made in India rather than Bali. Bali batiks are definitely the best way to go. Much more superior.

The batiks from Connecting Threads & Keepsake are very good quality. I've also used the ones from Joann's but our Joann's here doesn't have much of a selection.

I am always drawn to batiks. They are so interesting in their patterns. I made a star type lap quilt with quite a few batiks. I have a picture of it at home I will try to post.

I love Batiks sooo much that I started my own company that only sells batiks.

Plus it gives me an excuse to go to Bali to replenish stock.
