I no longer hand sew on bindings. Machine sewn all the way.

If it's the right colour, I would use it. If you plan on hand sewing the binding to the back, I would wash it first so it needles easier.

I think it is a great idea and a great finish for your quilt. I really like to mix batiks with other cotton fabrics in my quilts. I think they add a lot of interest and depth to designs.

I mix Batiks and cotton quilting fabric all the time and have never had a problem. I do prewash all my fabrics.

I hand quilt with batiks all the time. The key to sewing them is to use a very thin needle. My favorite needles are from the Thimblelady, long, thin and sharp. Other needles feel like trying to sew with a stick.
