To batt or not to batt QAYG
I've been reading the forums on whether or not to batt on the cheater cathedral windows quilt. I used fusible on the first one I made and I didn't like the way it turned out. Too puffy and wrinkly. I'm going to make another soon using the super cheater method--raw edged circles with contrasting squares inserted. The last one I made was the "pancake" or peekaboo with 2 circles together. I was thinking of using fusible flannel (I found a source for it :) 6.95 a yard). The alternative I'm considering is Pellon Shape Flex (sf101). It's a woven fusible interfacing and looks like it might just do the trick. Has anyone used SF 101 in lieu of batting? What do you think about the fusible flannel. I was really intrigued by that (http://bergentailorsupply.com/fusibl...tflanelyd.aspx 60" wide!). I look forward to your suggestions thanks.

Cathedral Windows is traditionally not filled with batting as it was developed in warm climates and there were several layers of fabric in a lot of the areas... but it's YOUR quilt....you should do what you want... No Wrong Way To Quilt!!!
