Batting for fabric bowls

Hi all...I saw the pinterest pin below and liked this little tool keeper project. But I used a wool batting scrap and that makes the bowl too soft and floppy.

What batting would work best? It has to have some body but not be too stiff as there is a lot of folding in this project.

I made something very similar, the pattern called for Timtex. I think headliner fabric and batting made for bag-making would work well also.

I'd probably use a fusible fleece, maybe one of Pellon crafting interfacing. It will be harder to fold, but it would be stiffer. I'm not sure about one of the foam products like Bosal or Soft and Stable. I haven't used them enough to know how they fold.

We made these at a "learn to sew" class at the local library - we used Hobbs 80/20 in some and some we used SF101 then the Hobbs 80/20. They were firm enough either way in our finished products.

I used 80/20 for mine. Maybe it depends on the size? Mine was from a different pattern and may have been smaller. And the pattern I used called for adding quilting after turning it right side out, which may have added stability.

There is a product called WrapN'Zap which I purchased at Joanne's which is 100% cotton which is what you should use since this goes in the microwave.

I think you're confused, this tool holder does NOT go in the microwave.

How about two layers of the wool? or ad quilting stitches to the square before folding into the bowl.

I think I would also use Fusible Fleece.
