batting fuzz transfered to top of quilt
 

I am using Hobbs 80/20 Warm & Natural on a quilt but as I am getting ready to quilt the borders I see a lot of fuzz that has stuck to the border fabric. What is the best way to avoid this happening? I foresee using a lint roller of the quilt as I sure don't want the fuzz under the quilting threads. Any other suggestions for future reference?

Wow, that is interesting. I never have noticed that problem but when fabric rubs against batting, there is bound to be some fuzz attached. I have the lint rollers and when everything is on sale at JAF, the lint replacements are what I buy (to have on hand). Remember, there is also the fuzz from flannel.

I've never noticed that either. Are you using 2 layers of batting? Hobbs 80/20 and Warm & Natural are 2 different batts.

Sorry this happened, scrim is suppose to be facing the backing. Don't know if that would have stopped this or not.

I have this on my quilt I'm making at class, probably because I have excess betting around my top and I roll it up for travel to class, nothing a lint roller or a vacuum with the dust attachment want remove. ��

I had that happen on a black and orange quilt. I needed a new needle. Mine had a small burr, which pulled the batting through to the top.

Yes, that happens to me all the time when I use Quilters Dream Cotton with darker borders. My only solution unfortunately was the lint roller.

I agree with Aronel. I bet your needle has a burr on it and should be changed to avoid any more problems.

Warm &Natural and Hobbs are different brands. I don't find Hobbs very linty. I do find Pellon Legacy really linty. Don't use W & N so don't know about it. this doesn't look like bearding but use surface lint.
