Batting / Interfacing for a Flat Table Topper Question
1 Attachment(s)
I am making this little table topper for my cousin and wanted to know what batting would you use. As it was made with charm squares I could not prewash the fabric and I know it will shrink a bit. Shrinking a little is okay but what batting or interfacing would you use to keep it kind of flat. She said she would not be putting anything hot on it. Thanks.

I use deco bond craft batting. It's thin and has some firmness. There are different levels of firmness you can choose from. My placemats and toppers lay flat even after washing.

Oh, good to know!

In a similar vein.... I would like to make a table topper that doubles as a hot pad\ trivet. I purchased the insul-bright. Do I need additional batting with it or is that the only batting needed?

I put insulbrite between two layers of cotton batting for pot holders which I use for hot pads too.
