Batting question
I ordered from Joann's 90" x 30 yds of Pellon 80/20 batting. Has anyone used this? I guess I should have asked first. I cannot belive how the roll of batting has gone up so high since I last ordered.

I get it from Walmart and it's always been fine. I use it all the time.

Since the question has been brought up, what's comparable with the pellon 80/20? I started out with W&N, went to QD 70/30 or 80/20 whichever one offered the 120 x 30yd bolts and will be looking soon for another bolt. Since all my quilts are gifts to others I need to see where I can save without losing quality. I tried Hobbs mixed bolt and either I got a bad bolt or it's just not right for me as it was not the same thru-out the bolt, lots of thin spots.

I use Hobbs 80/20 most of the time. The only problems I have noticed is when I buy the packaged, it is compressed more in some areas and even stretched a bit. I find this same problem with a lot of packaged batting bought by the piece. Now, I haven't bought any for a few years as I had a roll of the 120 and a roll of the 96 wide as well as a roll of polydown which I like a lot too. I haven't noticed any thin spots in any of these rolls.
That was the 80 cotton and 2o poly blend. What "mix" did you use? |
I hope it was is fine because it was still high price even on sale. $165

I use Pellon Natural touch cotton or 80/20 batting. I buy it at Walmart either in store or online. Just got four nine yard bolts delivered today for $15 each, free shipping.

My quilting group at church uses it all the time. We get it from WalMart on-line.
