Batting for quilt as you go

I will be making a quilt as you go project in the near future. I am wondering what batting will be best to use. I want something that will stand up to handling and keep its size and shape once it is cut into squares and sandwiched for quilting. Any recommendations, anyone? Thanks in advance!

At least 80% cotton. Many use warm and natural, there is also one sold at Wally World that is 90% cotton either works well.

Ditto... I love Hobbs 80/20 for QAYG.

Warm & natural is very good to work on. I have also used high loft polyester. I plan to make more quilts as I want to use up scrap batting.

Most QAYG techniques involve some level of pressing including the batting, or close to the batting. If your batting is mostly poly, it will shrink, melt, get yucky. It is doable (to use the poly's) but you need to know in advance to prepare and either find other pressing solutions or use different QAYG techniques.

I have used Hobbs 80/20 fusible for a flip and sew Log Cabin and it was really nice but regular 80/20 would work well also.

I love Hobbs 80/20. Warm & natural works well too. I generally use up scraps for qayg projects, so whatever scraps I have- often quite an assortment. I don’t worry about mixing different batting in my project.

I've used Fusiboo (fusible) and had great luck with it.

I love quilt as you go. I use 100% cotton scrap batting in all my blocks. I use that leftover strip of batting that is left after sandwiching a quilt. I don't cut batting yardage.

I like cotton and 80/20 cotton or wool.
