batting
where do you ladies all purchase your batting? It can get expensive and I am thinking there has got to be a better place then where I am getting it now

If I want Hobbs, I wait for a sale at Connecting Threads. They'll occasionally have a 30% off sale on batting, and I stock up then. I haven't settled on a source yet for Quilter's Dream.

If I want a product from the Warm company, I just wait until JoAnn's online has it half off & free shipping. Usually this happens at least once a year.
I know there's also an online source, batt-mart that just carries batting that is supposed to be good. http://www.batt-mart.com/site/490194/page/832937 I've saved the link but haven't purchased yet. |
I look for sales online , in shops, and at shows. Some of the best bargains I got were at shows.
|
I buy the Warm & Plush batting on a roll from Joann.com when I have a 50-60% off coupon (all packaged batting is on sale this week at JAF).
|
I use to get a half roll of Hobbs at JAF but they discontinued carrying Hobbs again. Using some of my old Hobbs in packages.
|
Connecting Threads often has great batting sales and free shipping at $50.

I use Joann's 50% off sale for some of my personal batting. For charity batting (90% of my quilting is for the Bible camp quilt auction or for Project Linus) I buy Hobbs 80/20 from them directly using their charity batting program (no 501c3 documentation needed). I also occasionally find wonderful deals on packaged batting at garage and estate sales. Most recently I found Thermore and Hobbs wool.

thanks for the tips. I will check into these

I order by the roll from Heartbeat Quilting and LEQ. My most recent roll is Hobbs Tuscany 80% Cotton/20% wool and honestly, I doubt I'll ever use another batting again. Practically no pilling, very little shrinkage and hand is unlike any other I've tried. I'm extremely pleased with it.
