Batting
 

Where do you buy batting? I do not like a puffy batting, use long arm. Usually use Warm and Natural for my personal things and Pellon Natures Touch Cotton Batting for donations quilts. Any other suggestions. Buy by the roll.

Prices have really gone up and when donating about 45 kids quilts, need to watch the cost. Thanks for your info.

I've been looking at batting all morning! I want to think that one of the sites I was at - seaside quilting supplies - specifically had rolls and pricing for longarmers. Maybe give that a look?? Good luck!

I have bought rolls of batting from JoAnn's, WHEN there is a 50% or 60% coupons, then free delivery too!

Kingsmen Quilting Supply is a good place to find batting by the roll. I have bought from them for years and even though they have gone up some their prices are still good plus their customer service is great.

Quilter's Dream has a program for charity quilts. Why don't you give them a call?

I haven't looked lately but I have purchased rolls of batting from Walmart.com and joann's when it's on sale.

I buy from BattingSuperSales online--they carry many different brands and have regular sales on different things. I'm not sure if the dealer in my area (30 min away) is the only dealer, but I order and indicate I'll pick up as shipping adds up fast. I have a friend that is long arm quilter and she's checking into a firm in Tx called Finco (???) that may be cheaper but I really don't have info on that. You might also check with a local quilt shop and see if they would order it from Checkers, etc for you as many pay a one charge shipping on items--you could offer to quilt a sample for them to offset the shipping.

I buy batting by the package and I like Hobbs 80/20. I buy the queen size batting at Michael's or Hobby Lobby and I usually have a coupon. When I buy a queen size I can usually get a couple of smaller quilts out of one package.

Whenever I can find some sheet blankets, or similar fabric at thrift stores, I will use them for batting. I like how they feel and easy to work with.
