I have heard good on both batting, but have not really done any big quilts yet. Penny

I used a thin low loft 100% polyester batting for my quilt as it is going to be washed often and I thought it was thin to begin with but after I hand quilted it, it seemed to fluff up really nicely and I am pleased now I did not go for a thicker one. The lady in the quit shop advised me to go with the thinner one, I was glad I took her advise as I would have gone for the thicker one. My quilt is nice and soft and cuddly, I will be using this again.

you guys are the best - now I'm sorry I didn't sew it together last night! I'm sorta doing a different style this time based on what she likes (its a surprise for her!) Instead of the sandwich type I'm going to be doing right sides together and turning it and then adding a trim to the top side. One side is zebra print and the top is solid black with a 4' peace sign! (you should have seen hubby and me making the template for it!)I then embroidered and appliqued her name down the center spoke of the peace sign. So it was too much work to redo in case I had the wrong batting so I waited on sewing it together till I checked with the experts! Can't wait to get back to it tonight! I'll post pictures when it is done. . .

I really like Quilter's Dream batting, too, because you can have your quilting more than 4 inches apart. I think it may be between 8-12 inches apart, actually. Using quilt shop quality flannel for the backing will add some extra weight to the quilt, too, but flannel isn't so great for the summer!

Whow! I'm especially fond of High loft. I do all my Qts in that. I have only recently started to FMQ I hope that wont be a propblem. Theresse

Could someone please clue me into the initial abbreviations this forum uses? I guess LQS is local quilt shop but haven't got the other ones yet. Like FMQ and DL, DIL. I'm a little slow on somethings but like to quilt. Thanks
