Batting from walmart question?

So today I went to a Super Walmart were they sale fabric and other sewing items, and I was looking at there batting it was called "Natures Touch" White Cotton with Scim $6.97 a yard. They they had a fluffier batting from the same company more like poly cotton and it was $3.97. I just wondered if anyone has bought this batting to quilt with whether by machine or hand quilting?

I have used a Pellon product called Natures Touch which was cotton with scrim. I loved it! It had a nice soft drape to it like Quilters Dream. I bought it at Joann's prepackaged and also on the roll. I machine quilted all the quilts that I used it for. I have been looking for their batting called Eco-Touch which is a blend of polyester(20%)and cotton (80%)- I believe. I have not found it yet, maybe I I'll go to Walmart and check it out.

I just ordered a 96" wide x 9 yard bolt from Walmart of the Pellon 80/20 blend batting for $34. 3 queen battings for a little over $11 each it is worth a try. It is shipping free to the store for pickup. I also want to try the Pellon wool batting which is ~$56 for a 9 yard bolt and will ship to my house for free.

I have used the pellon 80/20 on the 9 yard bolt and I really liked it. I just reordered more.

Sounds like well worth trying out! Any batting I've personally bought has been from Walmart and has been fine. The rest of my batting was inherited and I have no idea where it was purchased.

I do know that if I'm using the fluffy poly batting I prefer the highest loft as it seems to be more evenly distributed in the layers, whether bagged or on a roll.

I have used the "Nature's Touch" batting. The only negative I encountered with it is that it is extremely linty. I had to be very careful not to get little pills of batting on everything around it.

I buy the 80/20 from Walmart online all the time. I like it.

Thanks for the information. I didn’t know Walmart even sold quilt batting. It’s sure worth a try at that price.

Thanks for posting. I have not had to purchase batting for a while now and had no idea what is out there now.

The two battings described are of different thicknesses. If you plan to tie, then use the $3.97 one since it is fluffier. If machine or handquilting, I suggest using the $6.97 one.
