Beads? Anyone know a good online tutorial?

I would like to add a few beads to some quilt projects, I'm not sure how to do it. Actually, I know very little about beading. I've done a search on the internet and have come up with very little. Does anyone know a good online tuorial? Maybe on a blog? I would like information about attaching them and when, maybe adding different shapes and sizes, quilting around them etc.....

Thanks bunches....Micha

I found this one. I would like to do hand work but she uses a machine. It's a great idea, I've hadn't thought of doing it this way. Look toward the bottom of the post.

I guess I should be clear. I want to do hand work to add the beads and then use machine quilting. Or vice-versa, however it should be done. She uses a machine to add the beads.

Try this site Micha. She has a lot of info:

I did a Google search for "how to add beads to a quilt" and came up with a lot of sites.

Here's another one:

Good luck and have fun!

I use a long beading needle after the quilt has been quilted. Learned how to do this when I did a lot of hardanger work.

Hi quilterCDN,

Did you go all the way through the back of the quilt for each stitch (bead)?

I have added beads to quilts. I always do it after the quilt is quilted. I did go through the back of the quilt for each bead to make sure the beads are secure, though the quilts I have added beads to hang on the wall don't go on the bed. I have added beads to some quilted clothing too, and make sure each bead is very secure.
