If u do that wd be wonderful.....

Or you could nix the idea of "beatles" fabric and actually try to come up with an original design utilizing solids or regular fabric. You can do fusible applique or do something like this very innovative member who adapted a counted cross stitch pattern:

Could you ask your friend to supply the fabric and tell her/him where to buy it? Just a suggestion....
|
I second the idea of your friend finding and buying the fabric. Your work will be more than enough.

Another suggestion maybe would be to find pictures of their albums and them online and transfer them to fabric and use those as a starting point. I did that with Zappa once.

Your friend needs to buy the fabric and then you make her the quilt. I bet she changes her mind fast!
I have been collecting Beatles fabric for years. Also Elvis and Harry Potter. I made my granddaughter a Harry Potter quilt years ago and all her friends wanted one. The fabric was marked down twice at the store, no one was buying it, so I bought every bolt thinking this is going to be collectible in a few years. I can't believe how much people are willing to pay for it, especially people in Japan. |

I tell people who ask me if I would make them a quilt that it will cost more then they think and that I won't use low quality supplies as the quilt won't hold up and I will get the blame for not 'making it right'. One look at a low estimate of pattern, fabric, backing, thread, quilting, batting, and binding and I rarely hear from them again.

Try Spoonflower. It's a site where people have designed fabric and you can order some (digitally printed just for you). There are some Beatles options that might work for you. Seems less pricey, plus you can 'make' a yard using squares of several fabrics to get variety with lower cost. There's a selection of fabrics - kona cotton is good. Search for 'Beatles', 'Sgt Pepper', 'yellow submarine',...

Thanks for the info...
