I have look online and I can not find a pattern for what is called a bed runner quilt. What it is a small quilt that is placed at the foot of the bed for extra warmth for your feet. Does anyone know there I might find this pattern? Thanks!

I would make it like a tablerunner and make it as long and as wide as you want using some blocks in the center maybe? I have seen patterns but I would not go through that expense--just create it as you go.

I would start with a table runner and lengthen it. I saw them used at several hotels in South Africa.

Thank you I think will try you gal's ideas and see what I can come up with on my own!

Actually, you can take any quilt pattern and cut it down as well. My SIL did that for her mom and it was beautiful. Just take three to five rows, depending on the size of the block and add the borders.

Decide what size you want and then find a pattern you like and adjust it to fit. I saw a book at Hobby Lobby that features the bed runners but don't remember the name. It had some cute patterns.

I have that book...I though it had a pretty simple title like "bed runner quilts" It is a great little book and wasn't too pricey. It's a good way to change decor for the seasons without having to make full-size quilts. I have a white coverlet that I use and then top it with a bed runner.

Connecting Threads has book under $5. Also there was speaker on old Simply Quilts that discussed making them--but if I remember correctly used them over the pillows. I think the speakers were
Nancy Smith and Lynda Milligan and the book was just "Toppers.: |
