This is off topic but Yarn or Fabric, I love your avatar! Where can I get the pattern for these adorable dolls?

I just made a 24" X 48" ironing board and used felt for the padding under the silver fabric for ironing. It is working out great.

I have used craft felt to thicken the side walls of a tote bag then machine quilted.

If you have yardage I used felt for my design wall and it works wonderfully! It is an oatmeal color but I suppose any color would work.

You can use acrylic felt to create a color in trapunto on a whole-cloth quilt. Karen McTavish uses it...a red to create a pink when seen through the whole-cloth, etc. It is really fun to use under white or light colored material in a quilt to come up with a completely different color. It definitely needs to be washed first if you are going to use it in a whole-cloth quilt since the quilt will need to be soaked to remove all quilting markings after it has been quilted...you for sure don't want to have bleeding through on a quilt like that. I would only use it on a wall-hanging or a show quilt that won't be washed often, if at all.

My DH used yardage to cover cardboards for a designing wall. Works great. Also the pcs could be donated to a school or church.

I also use it to test-sew embroidery or decorative sewing stitches. Also I have been using it as a light batting in small stuff, as well as in facial features of stuffed teddy bears, etc. Someone will be very happy to get it - or as mentioned - donate it. Has lots of great uses!

Where in Al. are you? Near Birmingham?

Left over felt yardarge makes great batting for free motion practice pieces. I inherited a large supply of craft quality fabric and felt yardage, so I might just get fm conquered yet!
