Beginner Quilter Help

1 Attachment(s)
Ok yesterday I posted this quilt for my daughter. I am trying to figure out how to quilt it. So far I have decided this:

1. I don't want to use rays because I just did that on a quilt for my son. I would like this to be different.
2. I am going to quilt around the sun in the center, and possibly the vines on the border.

Does anyone have any suggestions besides the rays coming off the sun? I don't have any FMQ experience, but I am willing to try almost anything to get this quilt done! I also would like to have it done before my son is born in 8 weeks!

That is wonderful, how about maybe something that would look like clouds? Or even just a FMQ meandering around the sun and then some outline stitching on the rays. Whatever you choose it is going to look great

Really nice quilt!

Very pretty quilt.

Perhaps echo quilting around the sun four or five times and inside the sun and rays as well. Then maybe a crosshatch. Go for simple until you are confident with your skills. I let a quilt stymie me for almost a year because my vision was more complex than my skill.

Cheers, K

you could quilt cloud shapes in the open areas. since clouds are so free form, it's hard to make a mistake on them.
