Beginner Scrappy?

What would be a good scrappy quilt pattern to do for a beginner? I have a bunch of 1yard sections of blue and cream fabric I'd like to make into a quilt for our bed.
I'm just beginning this whole quilting adventure and have done basic square quilts and rail fences. I am currently working on a D9Patch as well.

Check out Bonnie Hunter's site at quiltville.com. She's the queen of scrappy and has lots of free patterns.

Here is a direct link to Bonnie's site. You should get loads of ideas there

Someone just put a tutorial on here about making 4 patches for quilt blocks. Using two colors.

Blue and cream would make a gorgeous log cabin.

Sounds like you've got a lot of good suggestions. Please let us know what you decide.

Take Five, and Turning Twenty are the easiest beginner patterns, and can be used with scrappy fabrics. Quilt patterns using charm packs and (most) precut's are easy to follow and make beautiful quilts. They make them look harder than they really are, which can be appealing to the beginner quilter.

Good luck and let us know what you end up doing.

Be brave! You learn by doing so don't limit yourself to 'easy' (unless you actually need this done right away). I am still working on my first (although I have finished others). It was totally unrealistic and over ambitious. But I learned so much, and I am still learning so much, trying it. I saw it in a book and wanted it. I had no idea that I should be starting with squares. But why should I?

I really like the look of Bonnie's Strip Twist pattern and I think I'm going to try it. I love that it looks like you set the blocks on point without all the work. :)
I think I'll throw in some other colors too. I have some more fabric coming, but I'm off on a trip for a week. When I get back I'll start this one!
