Make a disappearing 9 patch or magic tile. Both are easy and look great in any color. Just go for it and have fun. It's just fabric.

Yellow Brick road would a great pattern to start.

Don't be afraid to try. Lots of people here to help you when you have questions or run into problems! I find Yellow Brick Road to be an easy pattern to work with.

Eleanor Burns has some WONDERFUL books. She says "quilt in a day" but you have to be on extreme caffeine if you want to get it done in a day! I did Nana's Garden & it was very simple. She makes quilting easy & her directions are very clear to understand. So just do it! Have fun & share your project with us! :-D

When I was learning (still am) I started out with just 4 or 5 in squares and pieced a small wall hanging. It helps with learning to do the 1/4 in and the pieces are big enough not to be intiminating. Learning to join the rows and get the squares to line up will help with everything else you do down the road. Don't put so much pressure on yourself. As someone else said, it's only fabric.

many thanks ladies, i know you are all right... it is just fabric..going to look see if i can see any of eleanor burns books on amazon
