Where do you start? At the center or at the edge? I am going to machine quilt a lap top for the first time and wonder if I can start at the edge and go across the quilt. It is glue basted and I am using a walking foot. Please help!!!!

I start at the center. Will be watching for replies here.

If you start at the center, you can ease some of the fullness out to the outside edges as needed.

Center, whether machine or handquilted.

I always start in the center and go to the beginning of the border. I do the borders seperate. I always quilt next to quilting. This is what works best for me.

Center for me!

The first quilt I did I started from one edge and worked to the other. I learned the hard way it's easier to start from the center.

I agree. Start from the middle and work out.

Start in the centre and work your way out. Yes, it is more difficult to do the centre first, but it is necessary (IMOHO) and by the time you are tired, it will be time to do the outer areas(LOL).
