You can still buy the curved needles. Just saw them in a 2 pack at Walmart yesterday. My husband uses them at work to resew canvas on tent campers.

That's great, I would be interested to hear. I have not tried tying anything with this one yet (except a napkin), but the shape is so much easier than the curved ones! They worked but this is easier!!! It's not very sharp, but on denim and polar fleece, which is usually what I tie, it should work!

We had quite a discussion on this needle about a week ago. So my husband made me a couple and some for my sister. The lady from Australia had her husband make some too. I like it. I tried it out on a piece of quilting and it works great. Let us know where to get it. We hunted every possibility there was and no resource for the needle.

Yes, that is what they are called and also utility needles; you can get them also at WM.
