I found someone selling a "gently used" Bernina 150 Virtuosa for $300 - is this a good price? I have no clue how much one should cost...
|
If it is in good working order it is a great price!
|
Holy smokes - I would buy it! Check them out on eBay, they're going for over $500 there.

Okay all, if it's a good price, the next question is: is it a good machine? I have pfaff tiptronic 2020 currently, and I mostly love it, but it's getting a bit cranky...
|
I don't own a Bernina (yet) but have heard from everyone who has one that they are great machines. I think this is a really good buy would love to be the person buying it! :D

Someone here is selling a foot for Bernina machines: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-26122-1.htm

I have that exact machine and it's a good one. I paid $400 for mine a couple of years ago and thought it was a great price. I use mine as a backup machine now but I did make many quilts on it. You can't go wrong with a Bernina.

I have a Bernina Virtuosa 153QE as my main machine. Bought it used for $800 and would have paid more if I'd had to. I adore it, but you should be aware that they are not fancy-smancy embroidery machines. I know several people who traded up from the Virtuosa 150 line and really regret not keeping them. I say buy it and if you don't like it you can probably resell it for more than you paid for it.

I too have that machine. Bought it used about 4 years ago. The Bernina is nice, but miss my Viking--its clutch went out again, so gave up on fixing it. It replaced my non computerized Viking I had for almost 30 years. Now that was a machine! Had the most wonderful even tension.
