Bernina Activia 125

I want to move my needle over but can not find the book telling me how to do it. It is on the front of the machine arrows going either way but when I press on it nothing happens. Is there something else I need to push. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the Virtuosa 153 and all I have to do is push that little button. The needle moves over. I think it has like 3 different places it can move so you just press the button again. I'm not sure about your model. What foot do you have on. Sometimes if the foot doesn't allow for moving (like say a zipper foot won't allow you to move it to the left without slamming the needle on to the foot) the machine is smart enough not to do it. Try changing your foot and see if that helps.

Also make sure your needle is at its highest position - might help.

I have the 440 and don't know if it's the same. When I press the button with the needle down, nothing happens, but when the needle goes back up it moves over. Also, I've heard that some machines won't move the needle over if the wrong presser foot is on, to avoid having the needle hit the presser foot when it comes down. My Bernina doesn't know what kind of presser foot is on, but maybe yours does.
