Bernina binding attachment
I got the Bernina binding attachment #88 And foot for Christmas, even though it is what I asked for, I can't decide if is worth the cost and aggregation! Has anyone had any luck and or success with it?

Does your local dealer offer classes or personal instruction for this new attachment? That would be my first move.

Does Bernina on line offer help with this foot via videos???

I'd post a link, but it's You Tube & I'm not sure if it's permitted. |
I've always thought that this would be a good accessory to have but did find them to be pricey so I never got one.
Did you get it from a dealer? If you did I'm sure they would show you and give you all the info to help you practice with it. As mentioned above there are online videos that will also be helpful for you. Good Luck! Should be a time saver! :) |
are you using bias binding? i cut my strips on the bias I have a brother sewing machine and a babylock coverstitch and always cut my strips on the bias

Thanks, for the advice, I did get it from a dealer, however it is about 2+ hour drive to go there, I haven't tried it yet and have checked the you tube videos. I was hoping to find others who have had experience sewing bindings with this attachment.

I have it and used it to apply binding to baby hooded towels. It took some practice, but it does do a very nice job. I haven't used it on a quilt as I still prefer hand sewing my bindings.

I have used it and don't believe it is made to be used to attach binding to quilts. There is not enough space between the channels the binding moves through. Difficult to turn corners and bulky where the ends join. I believe it is made for one or two pieces of fabric or very thin batting. It sounds good but I would not buy it.

I have the Husqvarna one and find it’s better suited for sewing binding on garments, it’s great for necklines and armholes.
