I have purchased a gently-used Bernina Artista 200. It came with 4 bobbins and I would like to purchase additional ones. I was at PIQF on Friday and the Bernina dealer wanted $2.35/bobbin. I know they are metal, but geeze, I think that is expensive. I can buy them for $20/20 bobbins on eBay and they say they fit the machine.
I would appreciate any input from experienced quilters...should I pay the dealer price or keep shopping?
Thank you.

I saw them on fabric.com (from the home page, search Bernina bobbins). Or check Amazon. My concern is that I'm worried about getting bobbins that won't fit in my machine, so I've held off on ordering them. But for a few dollars on fabric.com, if you're placing another order, I think it's worth taking a shot

I have a Bernina Artista 185 and purchased by bobbins on e-bay. I bought a few from my LQS for that astronomical price before I thought to check e-bay. What a difference in price, and the ones on e-bay are just as good (I couldn't tell the difference). Just make sure you get the right size for your machine, as I believe Bernina's come in 2 different size bobbins. Maybe write to the seller and tell them what your machine is and make sure they will fit your Bernina. No need to pay top dollar. Shop e-bay.

Make sure you get the right bobbins for your machine. The wrong bobbin could do some serious damage to your machine.

I have had my Bernina for over 20 years and only use Bernina bobbins...I tried some knockoffs, but had stitch problems...

I bought extras from ebay and they work just fine, no problems.

I have purchased many different bobbins from Ebay. No Problems with any of them.

Many of the sewing machine/vacuum dealers have good deals, and you can email them to make sure they are the correct bobbin for your machine :D:D:D

I have bought bobbins off E-Bay for my 440 QE and have had no problems.

I've always purchased bobbins from my Bernina dealer.
Didn't want to take a chance of ruining my machine.
Quilters only need a few bobbins anyway. One for light, med and dark threads are all you need. I have 2 extra incase I need to match a thread color on a specific project.
