Bernina bsr

Hi all!
Just bough a Bernina 710. Love it! Any thoughts or experience with the BSR? Not sure if I need it or not?

I've had a Bernina with BSR for several years and love it. I've quilted up to a large twin size quilt on it. It works very well for me.

The BSR for the Bernina is like training wheels on a bike. It stopped me from getting micro stitches when FMQ and now I can FMQ without it sometimes. If I am doing an intricate design, I still use it. The BSR was one reason I updated to my 440 a few years ago. The 700 and 800 series machines sound great but just beyond my budget.

I am using my bsr more and more lately. I like it because it helps out when you are first learning.

Before you save up, go on into your dealer and do a test drive!
That way you can have your own IRL experience, and get a bit of a feel for it.
And later as you save ... go back for another test drive ... and another!
It'll help you start to learn about it, as you watch posts here, and can follow the discussions.

I added a BSR to my machine as soon as it came on the market. At the time, I considered it very expensive. Now, it has been worth every cent. I use it constantly. As Tartan said, it is like training wheels. Unfortunately, I think I'll always use those " training wheels."
