I use the #20 foot also.

I also have the 440 and use #20 for applique...As for a clear foot #39 is by far better than #36 (tried both). #39 works great for SITD

I was going to jump in with #20 too! I have a 380 and I think I have gathered in most of the feet and accessories I need, finding I use the #20 quite often already (purchased the machine in August.).

Thanks for that information, I have the same machine so I DO have that foot, I am going to try it out this afternoon maybe I can save myself a bunch of $$$ and not have to buy another foot.....we have a Retreat next weekend and I had some things I want to work on.....if I dont have to buy a foot that leaves more fabric $$$$
