Bernina repair parts
Anybody else having problems getting repairs for their Bernina 440? 6 weeks and still no parts available from the company. Wrote to company in Illinois and received a form letter.

I haven't needed any parts for my 440 but I hope they will be available when I do. I know they stopped making the 440 but you would think they could still make parts?

I had to wait a little while to get part of the case replaced (free under service maintenance agreement), but it wasn't more than a week or two, and I had the use of my machine during that time. Were your parts ordered by an authorized dealer? And what did the form letter say about the delay?

I also have a 440 and nothing is wrong now. I hop when I need a part, i can get it. Scary

My LQS - a Bernina dealer - told us last year that they would continue to service the 440 and have parts as long as the current supply from Bernina lasted. Once the parts were gone - they wouldn't be able to get more. I guess then it will be like going to a junk yard for old car parts!!!! Of course, Bernina is one of the only machines that is completely metal inside and they don't break very often. Needs a good cleaning and oiling by the repair guy once a year and it purrs like a kitten.

Scary! I had one of the computer modules go on mine and it was replaced free of charge. I don't want to think what will happen if something else needs repair. I have my original Bernina 830 Record from 1972, she still purrs away like a teenager. Can't beat the old ones sometimes.
