I collect books (although I am limited to ONE bookshelf).
I also collect thimbles and Russian Stacking Dolls (which have nothing to do with sewing)
Recently, I was introduced to the wonderful world of threads, so I see a new fascination growing.

Patterns for me.

Only quilting a year or two so and I wondered how I was going to answer your question. I did a quick mental scan of my sewing room supplies and it seems I'm big on scissors. Many different kinds. Fabric-only ones, small embroidery, little snippers, cuticle type, curved suture scissors my vet friend gave me....yes, scissors. I love scissors.
Seam rippers, and then straight pins.

Books

in the sewing category-patterns and books/magazines. In non-sewing related-cats, antiques and cookbooks/recipes.

Also being rather new to the quilting world, I don't have collections pertaining to quilting. Been using the thread I have acquired from past on relatives. I have quite a few scissors but only from acquired. I've a couple quilting books and magazines. But what I really collect is porcelian shoes (172), hands, like in jewelery stores, siamese cat figurines, marble owls and tea pots (which I don't anymore for they take up to much space). I have a lot of books that go back into the early 1900's,Workbasket magazines from the mid '40's. I too, collected cookbooks.
Collected mostly brand cookbooks. Like from Jello, Carnation, Calumet Baking Powder from 1912, Pillsbury Bake Off recipes, etc. Then my GD went to baking school and I gave her a box full. I still have 3 boxes full. Now have taken a lot of the cookbooks and taken recipes from them that seem interesting or dfferent and been making my own cookbooks. I am on #4, and about 2200 recipes later. If I look around I may find other things but I think I have rambled on long enough.
