I can't stand the little plastic box I keep my bobbins in... They unroll and the thread gets loose; the lid comes off. What type of bobbin holder do you use and would you recommend buying it?

I use the little toe seperators for polishing your nails. fill the bobbin up and it works perfectly or some use little hair bobs you can buy about a hundred from the dollar store. They are about the size of the bobbin and stretch over.

there was a thread about buying 1in. plastic tubing @ the hardware store and cutting it to wrap around the bobbins......I've been using it ever since....just love it.

I like the bobbin savers, they are in 3 different colors and look like small life-savers and hold a lot of bobbins. I can keep by thread separate along with designating them for different machines. They have been my favorite so far and really do work.

http://www.clotilde.com/detail.html?prod_id=280 They fit class 66 and all four or five kinds of class 15 bobbins that I've got. The bobbins are held securely and no more thread nests in the top drawers of my cabinets. I had been using baby hair elastics and those are okay - these are just neater. :) |

I've used these boxes for years. The bobbins sit in a foam. No unwound bobbins, no rolling bobbins. I have 5 machines & different boxes for each machine. I labled each box/machine according to threads. I.e, embroidery, quilt, sewing, top stitch, etc.

I just put the bobbin buddies on mine and put them in empty perscription bottles. They work great. They I write on the bottle which machine they are for.
