Best Method to Photograph a Quilt
 

I am a terrible photographer but I do like to post pictures of my quilts. I like to show the quilt with the backing. What is the best method to photograph. I have been folding them up but maybe better to lay out on a bed or something?

Yes, there are great websites. You also need practice.

I usually get my pics by calling one of my LQS's and asking when I can use their design wall or hanging apparatus. That way my quilts are at the right height and with good lighting. No way would I get as good lighting in a private home. So, I made friends before I needed them. Plus the owners make great friends anyway.

I photograph on my porch but the trick to getting the colors correct is by not using a flash but using Mother Nature's indirect light. The idea from AliKat of using a LQS is also a great ideal. NEVER can have enough quilting friends !!!

That is a really great website on doing good photos. I guess I know if I ever want to enter one. But I am sure that works good also for your inventory for insurance purposes.
