Best pin keeper I have found.

I love this thing. It's a Zirkel magnetic pin keeper. No matter how you drop the pins the heads of the pins go to the outside. Of course I had to buy the pretty pins to go with it. I went to a local quilt show and the vendor had four of them left, an hour after she set up and she bought a dozen of them to the show. I got the last package of the pretty pins.

Wow - Neat idea!

tessagin 09-19-2015 04:38 PM

I saw them at the last show I went to also. But I already have 3 different size magnetic bowls and couple of the magnetic pin keepers.

Wow! Not cheap on Amazon. Think I'll put that on Christmas list

Tartan 09-19-2015 04:56 PM

Ooooohhhh....sew pretty!

GEMRM 09-19-2015 05:24 PM

I think this is cool - how do the pins go like that?

daisydebby 09-19-2015 08:06 PM

I've seen this and tried it....don't own one, though. It's pretty neat. Love how strong the magnet is. I have a nice magnet pin holder....came from an auto store. Works great.

gingerd 09-20-2015 05:25 AM

That magnet is very strong....very.......

Does any one know if he magnet is strong enough to affect the electronics in the new sewing machines! I was warned when I got the magnets to use for seam guides to be careful where I placed them

Homespun 09-20-2015 06:05 AM

that's great...my magnetic pin catcher draws most onto their heads and I am always getting poked.

Onebyone 09-20-2015 06:24 AM

I bought it from a Bernina dealer. She had one next to each Bernina model set up for demos.

The pins are sharp, much more then I thought they would be since they are pretty. I think my young grand will be fascinated by this while in my sewing room with me. :)

I bought one during a Shop Hop..I love it! Mine was BLACK, not the pretty red color.

*** This one is too small for me.
***
*** I use the magnetic bowls - they do not tip over and stick to the ironing board.

All she had was red. I think red is Bernina trademark color so that's why she had all red.

It is heavy, won't fall off the table without a fight.

nativetexan 09-20-2015 07:46 AM

I have other magnetic pin cushions besides my machine and no problem. i never touch the machine with them. now this one is something i may have to buy. i have trouble picking up pins and having the heads where i can get them is perfect!!
just got a red one from Sew It Up.

ManiacQuilter2 09-20-2015 08:13 AM

Those are such pretty pins. It would be a waste of money for me to buy one since I too have three of the magnetic bowls.

alleyoop1 09-21-2015 04:47 AM

I've given up on magnetic pin holders! I bought one and kept it on my sewing table next to my machine with my little scissors right there. Well, my scissors became magnetic and ever time I picked them up a whole bunch of pins stuck to it. Gave the magnetic bowl and all the pins to a friend who wanted them. Got new pins and have them in a plastic box. No more magnetic anything for me!!

Michellesews 09-21-2015 04:52 AM

You have a red one! Mine is black but I love not sticking myself any more!

Yep that happened to me before. I demagnetized them. I put the scissors in my Sonic toothbrush charger base while plugged in, took them out and no more magnetic scissors. This will work for small tools.

Mariposa 09-21-2015 05:07 AM

Looks neat! I need to find one of these~ :)

I have mag pin holders...this one looks cool. May have to find and add to collection........I don't put my trimming small scissors on the mag. I have these tied to a ribbon loop and that hangs from cord of machine...so when I need I just reach down and pull up on ribbon....this way they never fall to the floor

Maybe someone else knows the answer, but I never keep my magnetic pin holder near my machine.
Too expensive a mistake to make!

Onebyone 09-21-2015 10:30 AM

I was told by dealers that the machines now have the computer parts shielded from damage from magnetic or other waves. I wouldn't hold a strong magnet to the body of my machine but having a pin holder next to it I have no fear.

Zinda 09-21-2015 11:35 AM

I had a magnetic pin holder for my wrist. It stopped my watch and I thought I had a ton of time to quilt! LOL

MarleneC 09-21-2015 04:47 PM

This is so neat. I have a magnetic bowl but the pins go every which way and I still get pricked.

I was warned of this as well. But it sure is a cool pin cushion and pins.

Pkelly 09-22-2015 11:41 AM

According to my Bernina dealer you don't have to worry about magnets around a Bernina machine.
