My favorite shop for backing fabric is Helios in Mt. Vernon, Iowa. Precut 108 x 108 backings sell for $39.00. There is a discount if you buy 2 or more. They have great sales too. https://heliosstitchesnstuff.com/

Marshalls Dry Goods has a fantastic supply of backing and they ship really fast. They have all price ranges and colors too.

Currently I am working on an extra large one (for me anyway) and it is 98x102.

I thought it would be easier and less stretching, if I didn't have seams. So would the wide-backing work? And if so, where is your favorite place to go?

I like WEBFABRICS........they have a wonderful selection of cottons and batiks both in extra wide..........their quality is wonderful and service cannot be beat!!

Backside Fabrics has been my go to place online.

I'm a big fan of Backside Fabrics too.
But if I need a lot of one fabric, or can share with a buddy, Textile Collections (fabric4less.com) is the BEST place to go. You can buy really nice 108" wide fabric for as little as $5.75/yd.
Right now, they have lots of wide batiks on sale for $8.75/yd.
The catch? You have to buy the whole bolt. This place only sells by the bolt or by flat folds. They also have some fat quarter bundles.
It is a wholesaler, but you don't have to be a retailer in order to buy there. You just have to register (for free) and then log in to see (and get) great prices on everything. They have lots of name brand fabrics.
I have no affiliation or family or friends there, I just like 'em. They also have great prices on by the bolt 44"- 45" fabrics too.

Hobby Lobby has 108" fabric at a very reasonable price. I have bought that before.

Fabric.com has lots of wide fabrics and the more you buy the cheaper the price.

I usually get mine at Craftsy.com when they have their sales.

Agreed. Marshall Dry Goods have 108" backing for $8.99 a yard.

I was told yesterday that JoAnne's now has 108" backing fabric.
