Best place to buy fabric by the bolt

Hey does anyone know a good place to get inexpensive fabric by the bolt? Our VBS kids this year are making quilt blocks for all branches of the military, and then a local quilting guild is going to put them into quilts to send out to local guys serving. Where can I get a good deal?

Do you need new fabric off the bolt?

Members of the same Guild, other quilters/sewers and even LQS' and other stores that sell fabric, may be quite willing to donate from their stashes because of the VBS efforts for military quilts.

I don't know for sure honestly. I have to wait until the guild meets on the 6th to see what they need/ what they are willing to donate. Right now I am just price checking!

Some members might even be willing to come and help to promote the next generation of quilters.

I don't know about bolts of fabric, but you can look at Goodwill for good quality clothes that are on clearance for pretty cheap, and cut them apart for fabric pieces. Men's long sleeve shirts in large sizes are especially good for large amounts of fabric!

try here I live 1 block from them and stop in every once in awhile not often tho as you have to climb 3 flights of very long warehouse steps but very nice people to deal with http://www.nickoftime.net/

Try Fabric 4 less , you do have to have an account to see prices but you can find many many of the bolts for between $3.50 per yard and $4.50 .. top manufactures , some are less. Lots of blenders for very little $$$. They charge only the actual shipping costs.
