Best Press

I searched the forum but couldn't find my answer. I was wondering if you can use Mary Ellen's Best Press in an iron instead of just spraying directly on your fabric.

Thanks!

i would not do it. i only use pure water in my iron. even tap water will crud up the insides... so no best press in the iron for me.

It might mess up your iron.

Thanks for the input. I was wondering if it would affect the iron. I think my husband would be rather upset if I screwed up the rowenta iron I just HAD to have lol!

You will surely gunk up your iron with that. Some water messes up irons because of the chemicals it has in it. I happen to live in a city that is in the top percentage of the best water so I use tap water in mine with no problems but to put starch in it is asking to buy a new iron

I LOVE my new Rowenta that I bought at Costco. I don't put anything but the water as listed in the instructions that came with the iron.

I wouldn't do it either, but what a great invention that would be, if someone could figure out how to make a auto-starching iron.

If you wouldn't put starch in your iron, then don't put Best Press in your iron, because that's what it is.

Most definitely not!
