Best Quilt Rulers

I know this subject has come up before. Maybe someone could point to a past 'thread' that will answer my question: what do you believe are the best quilt rulers and why? I am more of a 'wannabe' quilter than actual quilter but I thought I had cut enough to be a little better than I am. Pieces always seem to be just a little off which makes the entire block way off. Anyway, I have two or three different brands and am not sure if that's the problem. I wonder if choosing and staying with one brand may help. Thanks for all your wonderful expertise. Everyone on this board is just great and so helpful!

Yes staying with one brand will help! Even using only one ruler for an entire project can help! I have mostly Omnigrid rulers, but I think my favorite is Creative Grid as it has just the right amount on "grip" on the ruler so it doesn't slip when cutting! I keep saying I am going to get order more Creative Grid rulers but just haven't!

I love Creative Grids, too. I only wish they had 1/8" markings on their smaller size!

Definitely the same brand at a minimum throughout a project. Preferably the same ruler but that's just not always possible. One thing you can check is to pick your favorite ruler. Measure a 1 inch square and put post-its or tape on that inch square. Line that square up with your other rulers and see if the measurements are actually different. It's very possible they are. Also, make sure you always measure to the same side of the line. Err on the side of large - you can always trim down a smidge if you need to.

my favorite ruler is fluorescent and laser cut. i picked it up at a quilt show and the seller is no longer in business. but if you google fluorescent quilt rulers, you will find some. the color is easy to see no matter what color the fabric and the laser cut lines are thin, but also easy to see.

My current favorite is the Olfa line of rulers.

My current unfavorite line is Quilter's Rule because of the thickness of the lines.

I really like my O'lipfa rulers. I like that they stay put . . . although I did add some grippy stuff, to the underside. I have a variety of brands and use them all . . . but Omnigrid is probably the least used.

I like Onmigrid but have also recently discovered CreativeGrid rulers and have one from a quilt expo I bought and love it. Intend to buy more.
