Best quilting solid

I'm making a Quilt with all solids. Which is the best Quilting solid? Bella solids? Kona solids? Cotton Supremes? Free Spirit solids?

Thanks for your thoughts.

All you listed have their qualities. Which ever You like best is the best ( for you) I ( personally) love Kona's...my best quilting pal loved Bella's ...everyone has their own personal likes.

I am a bit of a rebel, but I mix my solids. I am not wedded to any one brand, it is more about finding the colours I want or need at the right price.

I do buy a Kona Grey, black and white in bulk, as I find I use quite a bit of them.

I have the opportunity to buy American Made Brand Solids at Sew Expo and they are great too.

I, too, go by finding the colors I want. I've used most of the major brands and honestly couldn't tell you that one is better than the other. If the colors that I need are available at HL, I buy the Kona there for a good price.

I haven't seen the others, but I love the feel and weight of Kona solids.

I always used Kona until a LQS owner showed me Michael Miller black. Loved it! Bought it!

I like both Kona and Moda Bella.

I learned about American Made Brand through this board and love it--sometimes their colors are limited though.

My favorite line is Maywood Studios' "Shadowplay." Their marbled solids; I realize "marbling" is not truly a solid, but if you're working with a pattern that works with subtle marbling, then you might consider Maywood Studios "Shadowplay" fabrics. I use that line of fabrics for about 80-90% of my quilts. I haven't found a line that I like better in terms of thickness and workability. (I also learned about Maywood Studios via this board..... :o )!

Let us know what you choose!

Oh, I'm not a regular user of the Kona cottons, but I've found the Kona cottons from Jo-Ann's to be of a lesser quality than those from other places. Others who use Kona more regularly might disagree but if you do go with Kona, I'd buy from a LQS rather than Jo-Ann's.

I love Northcott solids. They have extra threads in one direction and it is super soft. Hard to find. But I purchase it whenever I can find it.
