Best steam iron

My little GE shot of steam iron has finally bit the dust. I know GE is not making irons anymore--dumb idea. I already have a Black & Decker steam iron, but it leaks. I need to know your opinions on irons ladies. I do not like the Rowenta irons as the are way too heavy for my bad shoulder. I want an iron that is lightweight, with steam and a shot of steam and not over $40-$50 I do prefer the non stick soleplate Will be waiting for input from all you quilting sisters.

I have a Hamilton Beach iron that I really like and it has lasted longer than any of the Rowentas I use to buy. I look for a lot of holes in the soleplate, but I do like some weight to the iron. I think I bought it at Target for about $20.00.

There are plenty of decent steam irons out there, but at that price point all of them, unfortunately, either leak or spit. Seems like some company should have been able to solve this problem by now for under $100, but so far no luck. A new Black & Decker is probably your best bet.

My sister swears by her sunbeam iron that is light weight. Maybe you could go and test the weight at the store of the different irons.
My mother used to take her GE to the repair shop and they would make it like brand new again.

I bought a B&D lightweight at Walmart for $14. It has great steam. Irons are now made to be consumable products.

Try putting "iron" or "need iron" in the search bar above. We discuss irons regularly and everyone has a favorite for you to choose from. I use a black and decker digital advantage. It has never leaked but I stopped putting water in it. I have a rowenta made in mexico that does leak.
