Best way to hang a door flag

1 Attachment(s)
Last night I used the 3M Command Fridge Clips to hang my Memorial Day/July 4th Door flagt. This morning the flag was laying on the floor between the front door and the storm door.

I used 4 clips and thought that it would be fine. Apparently, the sticky backs on the clips weren't strong enough to even hold it.

Looking for suggestions to hold the flag on the door without damaging either.

Thanks,

I have used command hooks to hang small quilts and use a bull clip (only if there I didn't make a rod pocket) on the quilt to hook it into the command hook. There was a post a member posted on this site that gave me the idea. You might try an advance search of "command strip". You made a real cute quilt. Just be sure that command strips have specific weight load mention on the package and the surface has to be smooth. I can't used them on my apt textured walls.

what is a bull clip??

I think they are a kind of binder clip. You can google ' bull clip' images to see an example.

Command strips have to "heal" after being applied to the door. Allow at least an hour before hanging anything from them. Might be the problem. :)

No help with the hanging but I love your door quilt!

I have found that command strips don't like heat or humidity. I put a couple on windows around the house. The ones on south windows that got hot failed and all the ones on the outside of the windows failed. as stated above, the surface has to be pretty smooth and clean and the package will give you the weight info.
Also, it's not a bull clip it's a bulldog clip:

My son bought me this magnetic door hanger at Canadian Tire. I don't know who would stock them in the US? I have a metal steel front door so it works great however it has 2 section even though I just use the one on the door. The 2 sections are made to go back to back on a front glass door too. I use the magnetic one for my Door A Doodle selection every month.
If your screen door has some metal in the top that is magnetic, look for a magnetic towel rack. They have them at Walmart for on your fridge or stove? You could put it on the top inside the door and hang the flag facing out?

If your door is metal ... you can buy curtain rods with magnets.
Then add a hanging sleeve to the back of your quilt.
