best way to startch jelly roll

I know to let them dry before ironing but do you lay them in the startch to saturate or just spray?
Thanks Gale

I spray and then hang them on a drying rack to dry completely before pressing.

Wish I had seen this yesterday as I was in a resale shop and there sat a drying rack ... never thought about using one in the sewing room before. Well, Walmart is closer to me, and I know they have them!! ,Maybe I'll go shopping today...LOL

Everyone else probably already knows this, but I just learned how to avoid flaking when spray starching. Spray starch on the back, then iron on front.

I soak all my fabrics in a dishpan tub and then run them thru my old fashion wringer and then hang them up to dry so I don't have to squeeze the excess starch out of them and make even more wrinkles to press out.

WOW, I am impressed, I do press my fabric but mainly use a spray bottle of water and very occasionally, a bit of Best Press.

If I had to do all that before cutting or sewing, I'd never get anything made. I starch if I'll have bias to deal with.

Depending on what you plan to use them for, make sure they are hanging or laying straight. You don’t want them to dry crooked.

Has anyone ever watched Kimberly Jolly video on how she starches. It’s pretty amazing and YIKES!
She used cans of starch and saturated front and back both. Hang to dry
Of course, maybe that is why her quilts always look so amazing!!!! :)

Sometimes I have starched, and I am sure I will again, but I am with you ONEBYONE. I would never get to the sewing portion!
