Beyond excited - about to purchase a Baileys 17 Pro w/frame.
I have been talking to a lady about purchasing her Baileys. She only bought it last summer, but is starting a business now and upgrading. I really want a longarm, just was not quite ready to buy, but this is a great opportunity and set up I think. Crossing my fingers it works out.

Here's hoping for you.

I bought the Bailey pro17 sitdown model and I just love it.Good luck to you.
|
i hope that you enjoy it!!!! i'd love one, too... i didn't know that he sold a sit down model.
|
Congratulations on your "new" Bailey, that's what I'll be getting eventually.
|
Sounds good. I have no room for a long arm. I hope the deal goes through.
|
Good for you! I would be on pins and needles waiting to get it. You will have a wonderful time learning how to use it.

Congratulations and good luck with your new purchase. I just ordered an HQ Avante 18" and can't wait to get it. Thanks for sharing the good news.

I have a Bailey Pro 17E with a Grace Majestic frame. I love it. Has the lady used the machine? Did you get to try it out? I did have a learning curve with mine but once that was out of the way, I have no regrets. It's a great mechanical machine, and best of all, you don't need to pay somebody to clean and oil it for you since there are no electronic components. You can do the work yourself. Get all the information you can from the lady as to how the machine works, the best tension to use, etc. Happy for you!

Yes, the seller has used it to quilt about 30 quilts. I am planning on spending as long with her that day as I need to check it out. Hopefully once I check it out, we pack it up to come home with me. She is so nice to work with so far, and is willing to show me whatever I want to see. I hope I can get help from Chuck at Baileys if I have issues even though I bought it second hand. She did buy it directly from him. We will see. I am saving about 1400.00, hope that is worth it not to get it brand new. :)

I think it sounds like a great deal! :-) I'm going to work summer school so I can get a Bailey, too.
What frame does it have? |
If you are saving $1400 jump on it before anybody else does. I have the same set up and my learning curve was not as huge as I expected. I have always had mechanical machines and I like the ease of maintenance. Just one tip, this is a good, solid, workhorse, but it is not über fast, so no sprint quilting :). Good luck, you are going to love it. You can modify the handles for under $5 bucks with PVC parts from Home Depot. Good luck!

One nice thing about buying a Bailey from the original owner is that you can contact her if you have any questions or need advice, etc. Bailey has a very nice forum and it has a lot of good information addressing a lot of topics.
