For the cost of the kit--go for it because the metal binder tools will cost a lot more than the kit.

I have the Clover Bias makers and use them for stems or curves, but not for outside bindings on my quilts. I hadn't seen that foot, so googled it and watched a youtube on the Adjustable Bias Binder Foot #32 from Madam Sews Ultimate Presser Foot Set. It looked interesting, but I think it would have a learning curve....I also noted she attached the binding to a single piece of fabric in her sample, not to a quilt sandwich, so wonder how difficult it would be to wrangle the whole thing.

I sold my bias tape maker a while ago. The one made by Simplicity. I found it easier to make my bias tape by just using the iron.

That's a great price! I've used all sizes when I do the Lori Holt sew-along. Have never used the presser foot, though.

I have not used a bias tape maker but would buy it from amazon. The price is $7-10 less than Love Sew. I did purchase the
LED light from them & was not happy with delivery. Tracing did not work well at all. My pkg stalled in TX for over 3 weeks. My 1st email to check delv. I was told to have patience & sent a survey. After responding in the negative & asking for a refund there was a miracle. I had my pkg in 3 days. The kit looks good but there is 1 on Amazon for less that looks to be in a canvas case. |
Amazon has several of these kits in the $15.00 range by different manufactures. I have one and I love it, used it a lot when making masks and I use it for quilts, adult bibs, and towels for babies that I make from terry cloth.

QuiltsRFun, I am hoping that the foot and folding thing work as well for me.

I have Clover bias tape makers. I don't use them that often but they are handy to have. I like them for stems and Celtic designs. My favorite one for stems is the 3/8 size. I use this one the most.
