Hi all, I stopped in at Big Lots tonite for a coffee pot and decided to look around and guess what I found !!!!! FQ's yes that's right the had a big stack of fat quarters like the one Joann's has. Well, naturally I bought 5 of them (they were $1.00 each) I'll open them tomorrow and let you know if they're worth looking for. Just thought I'd share.

My Big Lots doesn't have them. Same manufacturer as JoAnnes? If so, I think I'd pass as I don't like the quality of the ones at Joannes.

Not all the fabric at Joannes is bad, you just have to be careful when you are buying it. Just my opinion.

I didn't say that. I said the fat quarter brand they carry is of lower quality IMO.

I agree. I have gotten some horrible FQ's @ JoAnne's and refuse to buy any more. However, have gotten some decent fabric off the bolts.

I think you have to be careful anywhere you shop for fabric. Most often you will find a variety of quality ranging from very nice to not so hot, although the LQS's I've been to seem to have a lot more of the 'very nice' than is usual in any of the chain stores.

I have purchased some fat quarter Bundles from JoAnn's that I discovered were fabrics by Hoffman, Kona Bay and Timeless Treasures. They were top notch fabrics not the normal flat fatquarter you see. There were like 5 in a package, found them both in Florida and Tennessee..

I will have to check out Big Lots here and see if they have them.

Looks like I need to make a trip to Big Lots. I love to shop there anyway.

Hey my daughter and I was in Big Lots last Sunday, just looking around and lo and behold I found the same fat quarters. Only I bought 10. Haven't opened mine up either. But for a 1.00, I can use them for anything, right? They were pretty to look at anyway.

Oh I'll have to look we have two of them in my town.

WOW....big lots has fabric! I have to go check that out. I have 2 of them near buy about a half hour away.

Just an FYI, if these are from the same manufacturers that Joanne's carries. The ones at Joanne's go on sale (I think) Tues. for $1.

Those are really pretty prints! Has anyone felt them yet, are they nice quality? I have bought some from JoAnns that were nice and thick, great fabric, and a few that were thin and not so nice! Its just hard to tell the quality when they are wrapped up like this!

I love Big Lots!

I buy NICE scrapbook stuff there all the time. They get tons of the big, brand name stuff in. Granted its last years or last season's but that doesn't bother me.

I'm going to have to go check it out!

I was at our Big Lots yesterday, but didn't see fabric. What section of the store was it?

They were in with the tiny craft section, not real visible, sort of up on a shelf (they don't know from FQs) so I got them all down and put in stacks and chose which ones I wanted.

This is definitely new at our store, no longer than a week at the most.

my girlfriend came home with fabric from "tuesdays"? is that the name of the store? ..we just got one in michigan not that long ago..i think she said it was a set/package of four
FQs together. i will see her tomorrow and ask her again.

I think it's called "Tuesday Morning." We have one in our outlet mall, and I found a pattern book with three triangle rulers in it for an amazing price. I haven't seen fabric yet, but maybe I'm due back for another visit...

I went to our Big Lots Store today and the fat quarters are there. Sorry...don't mean to offend, but they are TERRIBLE quality. I would save my pennies and there is quality, name brand fabric available for ordering on the net for $4.00 or less(which is what this fabric is going for). I was NOT impressed at all with it and would recommend people look for some clearance or good sales and stear clear of this fabric:<

Went to my local Tuesday Morning, no fabric. Not yet anyway.

Does anyone have the ad with the fabric shown, that they'd be willing to e-mail me? I'm just curious to see what I'm probably going to miss out on. Boo.

I've seen no mention of fabric in any ad, I just heard about it on here and went to look.

I stopped on my way home from work. They had yarn, but no fabric. I asked one of the employees to make sure, but she said they didn't have fabric. They had several empty shelves though. Hmm maybe they are scaling back to close, or maybe getting ready for an onslaught of holiday stuff.

I opened my FQ's last nite and they were VERY NICE fabric, not thin at all, my only issue is the residue left from the stickers, I wish someone could come up with a label that didn't leave residue.

I stopped at Big Lots on my way home today and checked. They had a small selection of FQs and their quality varied. I bought 4 different prints that had a nice weight and feel to them. A big surprise bonus was running into another QB member checking them out also! It was very nice meeting "finch" in person and we both agreed, "This board is the best!!!"

I found fat quarters at Big Lots last week, and have found a bunch at Tuesday Morning a few months ago. I go to those stores and all the thrift shops on a rotation as my schedule allows without burning up tanks of gas, and sometimes am pretty surprised at what I find.

I already had on my to-do list to go to Big Lots after work today to get dog food and cat litter so this will make my trip a little more interesting.

I finally made it to our big lots and they have the FQ's too and lots of them in different patterns and colors. The feel of them seems to be better than wm's FQ's and for the same price. Woo Hoo!! I bought 4 of them.
