Amazon is a great place for researching machines (and other purchases). The customer reviews can be very informative! The prices seem pretty typical. Amazon sells stuff, but it also has many other companies advertising their wares through the website. I do occasionally find better prices outside of Amazon, but Amazon is a great place to start.

Check out e-bay, too. I bought a brand new, still in the box, Janome 3050 for $419.00 No shipping or taxes. They normally cost around $700.00 My sister bought hers in Sept. at a truck Load Sale and payed $650.00 It only took 4 days to get it too. I love it!!
