Billie Lauder Tutorial

Hi everyone. Years ago, I had a video where Billie Lauder taught a quick and easy way to make delectable mountains. It made the two colors at the same time. I can't find that tutorial. Does anyone know what I am talking about and know where to find the tutorial? The quilt is similar to the picture.http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pMfDgub_Pc...e+this+one.jpg

I don't recall a Billie Lauder tutorial, but Bonnie Hunter has a really fast and easy one. Hope this helps.

The method I think you are looking for is demonstrated here. See the 5 minute mark for cutting and assembly to the picture you posted.

I remember the Billie Lauder tutorial. She was on Simply Quilts a lot. HDTV should fix their web site so we can access those programs again.

The Bonnie Hunter and Missouri Quilt Co. patterns are somewhat different than the one in the original post, where the largest strip ends in a chisel shape at each side not triangles. I just finished a lap quilt based on Bonnie Hunter’s pattern. I also arranged the blocks as Zig Zag Mountains not Stacked Lanterns, which is the block layout in the original post.

Your quilt is beautiful! I love the controlled colorway you used.

I actually have a VCR tape where Billie made that quilt block on Simply Quilts. Obviously have no idea what episode it was on but I will look to see if I can find it and perhaps it will give me some info about it that I can share with you?

I too wish they would bring back quilting shows !

I did my delectable mountains with the large triangle and HST instead of the strip method so am not much help. I am pretty sure though that I just recently saw a good set of instructions for the strip method, so I'll relook at a few things.

Check your local PBS stations for quilting shows! We have our major Seattle station KCTS -- not so much quilting there but they also have a Creates! station further down the dial that has some, in fact Quilting Arts is going to come on at the top of the hour should I tune it in.

Saturday mornings, the Tacoma stations KBTC has a couple hours of craft programming, starting with gardening and then knitting and then starting about 10:00 about 2 hours of quilting and some sewing (Like Nancy Zieman wasn't just quilting...) Beware, it changes after lunch into car stuff!

I'm not sure how it works but I think you can log into their website and watch the live stream without any additional apps or anything.
