Binding a 4" Hex
1 Attachment(s)
My friend asked me to make a mug rug for her for a family member so it took me a couple of weeks before I was ready to proceed. So now I just need to secure the edges, basting didn't work as well as I had thought. But how do I connect the ends of the binding?? 4" is quite small. Should I just do a straight connecting seam?? THANKS for your help !!

I would cut a hexagon one inch larger all the way around that one, fold fabric in twice, and topstitch it. If this doesn't make sense, see Eddie's tutorial on a hexagon table runner, forgot the name of the thread, but it was just on here within the last week or so, because I made some coasters like that.

I cut the backing one whole inch larger all around. then fold one side down half way(1/2 inch) and touch the edge of the hex, then fold over again covering raw edge of hex. pin or hand stitch. then the next side, etc. so much easier than trying to put binding on.
