Binding and backing on helix?

Heres my double helix quilt so far. It's 39x60. Many of you suggested the wide white border which I agreed was a good choice. I only have a maybe 20 inches left of white scrap! Now I'm going to bind it. Seeing it now, what is your vote for binding ? I have enough of just about every fabric except the stripe. Which of these fabrics might you choose for backing? (Zoom in on the quilt.) I have ideas but am willing to entertain other ideas.

I have to finish it by Thursday night so i opting for simplicity.

Very nice, for me it would depend on how I plan to quilt it. Are you going to SITD the helix and then quilt with white thread in the white? I usually like to use the same thread on the top and bobbin. I would choose a back that will look good with my white quilting thread.

I'd go with a white backing and either piece a binding using the fabrics from the helix(or combine with white if you run short) or just use white. I really like your quilt

Hmmm. I hadn't considered white at all for backing. I was going to use variegated Aqua thread and SITD the colored parts, and either stencil or meander white in the whites. I'm not sure the dark thread on a white back would look good because I'm not skilled with quilting. I've decided binding will be the purple check fabric.

If you are quilting with aqua thread, then use one of the fabrics that has a pattern so any errors will be less noticeable, perhaps the green with the little circles?

White is a good choice for the back to ensure there is no shadow of the backing showing to the front. Also white batting.

I would likely do a scrap binding of many of your fabrics.

I prefer a fabric that has some sort of movement so that mistakes aren't made. This cute quilt came out very nicely. Love the fabric you used. Darn it, the strip would have been perfect for the binding.
