I have done it both ways, just curious how everyone does it and which way looks better.
i do it both ways too it just depends on which way will look best with the quilt
It depends on the project. I do it both ways. But I always machine stitch my bindings.
I machine stitch to the front and wrap around to the back with a blind stitch.
If I want to hand stitch the binding down, I sew to the front, turn to the back. If I am going to machine stitch it down, I do just the opposite.
I just finished hand-stitching the last side of the binding on a quilt I "finished" over a year ago. I DESPISE HAND SEWING! For some reason, I didn't mind hand-stitching the last baby quilt I made, but large quilts ... I will forevermore stitch to back and wrap around to the front.
I do both ways, like to hand sew, but off course it's quicker by machine.
Has any of you tried out the "Easy quick mitered binding tool" ? Would like to know how it works, it seems easy. |
Front to back for me. I jut like the way it looks when I'm done.
ok - silly question time - but why does it matter?
I usually turn it from the front to the back, unless I am sewing down by machine, then I turn it from the back to the front.
