Binding for a Flannel quilt
I have a quilt that is all flannel - front and back - do I do a binding with flannel using double fold or single fold - any suggestions??? Thanks Cheryl

I would use flannel since the entire quilt is flannel and I would use double fold so it is stronger.

These are good ideas. My first quilt had a lot of flannel. I never realized how stretchy it can be.

I would use double fold flannel, cut on bias if possible. My experience has been that flannel cut on straight of grain tends to wear and fray on the fold line much faster than regular fabrics. Also I usually heavily starch flannel from the back side for binding to reduce the stretch.

I agree with Kat Sews, double.

I agree with all, flannel, double fold , bias, heavy starch.

Ditto, flannel, double fold, bias, heavy starch.

I cut my cotton bindings 2 1/4" but do flannels 2 1/2". Need just a little extra since it is a little thicker when double folded.

I concur, flannel, bias, double, cut a little extra wide to accommodate the bulk of the binding fabric and the quilt sandwich.
